The Attack

The Attack

“Come on, come on, just one more rock,” Annabelle cried. “Blood!”. Annabelle’s finger began pouring with blood as she screamed in pain. She froze, as still as a stone. Her heart began to beat rapidly with fear. A shiver ran down her spine. She was clueless about what to do. Was she going to survive?

An hour went by. Annabelle had finally calmed down. She had gone home to tend to her terribly injured finger. Annabelle received many cuts but never something this concerning. After the treatment, she decided to go for a swim at the beach to distract herself from her injury, not realising what sea creatures could do. Was her body ready to swim?

Almost out of energy, Annabelle walked positively towards the water, hoping that it would change her mood. At that moment, she saw a drop of red liquid on the crystal-clear water. Wondering what it was, she began swimming further, and further into the deep, dark ocean. Not a second later, Annabelle spotted a grey fin poking out of the azure water. Sharp teeth shot out of a carmine mouth as they glistened in the ocean. Its black, beady eyes rolled back and all she could see was pure white. It looked as if it was coming towards her. “What’s that?’’ Annabelle thought. “Probably a dolphin,” What could it be?

Swimming rapidly, Annabelle began to realise what the mysterious sea creature was. “SHARK!’’. She yelled, making the creature race across the ocean. Panting, she began to panic. Blood thumped through her ears. But Annabelle swam and swam until she thought she escaped.

Trying to stay calm, she turned around. No one was there, not even the shark. She let out a small sigh of relief but still remained alarmed. “Aaah!” Who screamed?

In the blink of an eye, she sensed something not even a centimetre away. Trying to run away, Annabelle flickered her legs, hoping that the splashes would distract her threat. But nothing could stop it from hunting down its prey. She could feel her heart racing as she swam far, far away. Barely alive, she finally decided to give up and accept her fate. “I can’t do this anymore; that’s it!’’. Was she actually going to face death today?

Moments later, the shark began to look around to find Annabelle, but she was nowhere to be seen. “I think it is gone” Annabelle thought. While on the other hand the shark had scurried away as it had seen a clown fish nearby. She watched it closely as it swam away and then she pushed herself to swim towards the shore. “Yes! Finally!” Annabelle exclaimed as she dragged herself on to a rock. She jumped in joy as she strolled towards her beach umbrella. A relieved smile was pinned across her face. But then, she saw the sand near the beach turn pale red. Annabelle’s ears began to thump, again…
