Art is ubiquitous today. It is essence of life and it personifies creativity, culture and beauty. Whether at home in form of wall paintings, statues, decorative items or in library in form of novels, poetry or in buildings in form of sculptural beauty, it is present everywhere. Its exquisiteness really gratifies one’s heart. It is hard to imagine how life can persist without art.

Yes, art has become an asset today. Unlike yesteryears when people used to admire its delicacy, today it has become a commodity for people to put their social and financial status on display. But even in this modern era, it continues to play a vital role in promoting beauty and creativity as it has always done through ages and civilizations.

The Egyptian civilization is the greatest example of craftsmanship and art. The Pyramids, Sphinx, mummification of a human body are classic and biggest examples of art. It’s only to the credit of art that the Egyptian civilization is still remembered after so many centuries. Not only the Egyptian, but other civilizations like the Roman and Greek civilizations were also dominated by the beauty of magical art.

Even in today’s pragmatic world dominated by impassive people, art still has got a utilitarian meaning. The clothes we wear, the novels we read, the movies we watch, the music we listen to, are all different forms and creation of art.

Many civilizations came and vanished, many empires have fallen, from the age of the pyramids to man’s landing on the Moon, from the times of Alexander to the times of Hitler, and from Picasso to M.F Hussain, there is only one thing that has lived forever and that is “Art”. Art cannot be destroyed, nor will it vanish. It can only be preserved, and its beauty will always be admired. Surely without art “The World is not enough”.
